Jess Lin aka dontthinkjessdo is an artist, painter, and digital illustrator in San Francisco. Previously a marketing designer and art director in tech, Jess is a visual explorer and continues to seek new ways to communicate and tell stories through art. Born in San Jose, California, raised in Singapore, and ethnically Taiwanese, Jess pulls inspiration from her multi-cultural background and vibrantly diverse—and sometimes confusing—identity.

 

As a third culture kid growing up in Singapore and then an international student back in America, Jess has always struggled with the sense of 'belonging'. The question, "where is home?" was always difficult to answer. Her art is a healing way to draw connections between the past and present and realize that the space in between places, memories, and cultures is a home too.

 

In 2022, Jess decided to take a step back from corporate tech design and return to her fine arts background. She has built dontthinkjessdo as a free space to give life to random thoughts, musings, and ideas with the motto: don't think, just do.
